This is certainly just more MAGA BS! I wouldn't have gotten news at all during Desert Storm, if not for a short-wave radio and VOA. There was nothing "liberal" about it --- just vast amounts of true reporting. My late Dad gave me the radio and told me to tune to VOA. MAGAts don't like the truth because it gets in their malevolent way!
Yes! My mom and my uncle, both stationed in Germany at different times.. VOA was standard for news. Never thought of as anything except just the news. And that's all it is.. just the news. The truth.

The journalists should not just stop now,instead they need to pass their reporting on to other great & trusted news agencies & podcasters in particular,which is where it’s heading now anyway.!!They cannot just stop this train now,it’s way too big & too strong.!!!

I'm sick in my stomach and in my heart every day. I've been able to bounce back before, but the last few days… something has changed. I'm deeply struggling. And I feel abandoned by my party, save a handful. Where are they?! They need to fight as hard as we citizens have been. We are exhausting ourselves… seriously, where are they?

Violating the first Amendment started with Defund NPR and PBS because Elon Musk was offended with the fact that local NPR and PBS stations were reposting this a series of articles Reuters did exposing Musk for being toxic at all of his companies before going to the White House. This is how we ended up with the disaster we have today with all the media facing attacks from the White House.
The United States, through its actions domestically and internationally, is no longer an exemplar for democracy. Perhaps our former European allies will fill the void.
I am a told that after the Constitutional Convention that set up the rules for a brand new democracy, the United States of America, one of the founders, I forgot which one was asked: What kind of political system has the Convention created??? Answer: A democracy, IF YOU CAN KEEP IT!!! I DO NOT know if this was true or not but it does not matter. Democracies can be destroyed, there are plenty of examples of the destruction of democracies in history. The most famous are the Roman Republic being overtaken by Julius Caesar and his nephew and successor Augustus Caesar, the second example is the Nazi takeover of the Weimer Republic in Post World War I Germany. The lesson of both of these examples is that the leaders where picked by A MINORITY OF THE PEOPLE ELIGABLE TO VOTE!!!! My argument is that if our system was set up so that a MAJORITY OF PEOPLE ELIGABLE TO VOTE is the only way a leader can be elected, Trump would not have been elected and the problems we now have would not have occurred.
Of course most people do not know or do not care how our President is actually elected. I know this because I was a political science major in University and I also went to Law School where the concept of how the President is actually elected is something that both Poli Sci majors and attorneys are required to know in order to get their degrees. Sadly this is not the case for other people in this country, but in my opinion it should be taught in every high school and be a requirement for graduating high school.
Also the only Politician in my entire life and I am 65 years old that has ever brought this issue up is none other than BERNIE SANDERS, who I disagree with on every other issue but he is correct on this issue. Unfortunately because of his unconventional views on other issues the majority of people ignore whatever he says. We need a mainstream politician to take up this cause.
