Thank you for keeping us informed. I can’t even imagine how revolting it must be to be there and see these traitors and criminals walking around schmoozing with the very people they tried to harm. I also really feel for Joni Ernst having to go against her own principles because as you pointed out I am sure she was bullied and coerced into supporting Hegseth. This is all just beginning and I wish we were all ready at the end of this incoming Administration.

Think about it, if those who have a conscience stood together against the absurdities ( so many to exemplify) such as doctors faced with a woman who will loose her life or the ability to ever have children! What if they stood together and said F’ YOU! I will not let this woman die! It would be an act of rebellion! And yes, make news which would be a good and honorable thing!
We need to stop cowering to these people. The “will of the people” is hilarious. It’s not the will of the majority of this country, and we have every single right to speak out. They don’t get to bully us. They deserve a middle finger right in their faces — not respect and compliance.
It appears the goal is to burn down the whole of government, let’s just hope when and if this epic lunacy ends, there’s something left to rebuild on. If not, this is just the beginning of the American dark ages.
Olivia, your experience of the function of a highly respected government that has, in effect been thrown to the wolves, is essential to sorting this mess out. It is my view that the insurrection of the January 6th was evidence of a coup in action that has not been recognized, is obviously still ongoing and profoundly dangerous to our Democracy. Lord help us all. 🙀

As tempting as it is for me to just tune out this nonsense, knowing what you’ve been through encourages me to stay informed. You’ll never know how proud I have been of you for speaking up. You are so inspiring!
I agree. Substack must offer more to keep people involved. Giving up is dust they want! We must have a proactive avenue also.
This is it: check out WhiteChalkCrime.com and listen to teacher whistleblowers who for years have been trying to do something about the corruption in our schools that’s been slowly dismantling democracy. They can teach you what needs to be done so that democracy regains its rightful place in our schools.
Getting the public to distrust teachers was the ingenious act that stole our schools - democracy’s foundation - from us. Trusting called to teach teachers is the only way to get our foundation back. Then run or help others run for school boards on a “save democracy” and “end school shootings” platform. Run or help others run in blocks. You don’t need a child in the school to do so. We have corrupt schools because good, democracy loving people don’t run for school boards, plain and simple. Administrators have been grooming opportunists to rubber stamp their acts. We can outsmart them.
These boards may be the only thing we can seize and flood with democracy. So go for it - either run or help people run in blocks big enough to control each board.
We will kill two birds with one stone. We will one again raise citizens and critical thinkers while creating an island of democracy the thugs can’t touch.
We must do more than resist. We must also build power. Because most people know little about our schools you must depend on those of us who know a lot about them.
Ulysses S Grant warned how important education is saying: "In a Republic like ours, where the citizen is the sovereign, and the official the servant, where no power is exercised except by the will of the people, it is important that the sovereign—the people—should possess intelligence. If we are to have another contest in the near future of our national existence, I predict that the dividing line will not be Mason's and Dixon's, but between patriotism and intelligence on one side, and superstition, ambition, and ignorance on the other."
That contest is before us now because empowered bullies are running corrupt, inept schools that abuse teachers and their unions into puppets. Our schools have turned Americans into forgotten men and women rather than citizens. And we can fix them and take hold of democracy once you listen to the whistleblowers who’ve had no voice up to now.
