There are moments that test not just individuals, but the very soul of a nation. This is one of them. I had something else planned for today. But the urgency of this moment demanded a shift, because what’s happening deserves your full attention.
As I’ve shared in recent posts, last week the President signed an Executive Order targeting Chris Krebs, the former top U.S. cybersecurity official, for the “crime” of doing his job: safeguarding our elections and refusing to lie to the American people. The move sent shockwaves through the cybersecurity and national security communities. Not just for its brazen retaliation—but for the chilling message it sends to every public servant and private sector partner working to keep this country safe.
This week, Chris Krebs announced in an internal email that he’s stepping down from his role at SentinelOne to fully dedicate himself to fighting what is, in my view, a blatantly political investigation by the Trump Administration. He made this decision to protect the company from further harm, and to take this abuse of power head-on.
That’s not just integrity. That’s courage. That’s leadership.
"For those who know me, you know I don’t shy away from tough fights. But I also know this is one I need to take on fully - outside of SentinelOne." - Chris Krebs
I know Chris. And I have tremendous respect for him.
On LinkedIn, he signed off with: Illegitimi non carborundum. (Don’t let the bastards grind you down.)
Tomer Weingarten, SentinelOne’s CEO, backed him with this note to employees:
“The work he (Chris Krebs) led — especially in service of democratic institutions and critical infrastructure — is foundational and will continue to shape our impact moving forward. I know he'll take on this next chapter with the same clarity, conviction, and humility that defined his time here, and he carries our full respect with him as his journey continues.”
Let me be clear: I stand with Chris Krebs. I hope you will too.
This is bigger than one man. This is about who we are as a country, and whether we will allow truth to be criminalized. I urge every American who cares about the Constitution to stand with him.
I also call on the private sector—especially business leaders, CEOs, CIOs, and CISOs, to stand by SentinelOne. This is a company under siege not for wrongdoing, but for hiring a man of principle, a cybersecurity leader who acted with integrity and refused to bow to political pressure. If your organization relies on cybersecurity expertise, this is your moment of truth. Don’t get scared. Don’t fall into fear by association. Do not cower. Do not stop being their client. Now is the time to show that you value security rooted in truth, not politics.
Support those who stand for truth, even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard.
Yes, this is about Chris. But it’s also about us. We must show him, and his family, that they are not alone. That we see what’s happening. That we won’t look away.
Chris spoke with courage. SentinelOne stood with conviction. Now it’s our turn. Because if we turn our backs on those who defend the truth, what does that say about us?
Sure, I could stay silent while a former colleague from Trump 1.0 is being targeted in such a dangerous, unhinged way. But I’d rather take the risk of standing up for him than be complicit by staying quiet.

If you missed this week's live show in NYC featuring Jim Acosta, Don Lemon, Michael Cohen, Tara Setmayer, Harry Dunn, and me—you can catch the whole event HERE.
And at noon today, I'll be live on Substack with Rick Wilson. I hope you'll tune in or catch the replay when you can.
I stand with Chris Krebs and Myles Taylor. Trump can’t get away with this. We have to stop him and I know they can do it. God speed.
I always admired Chris Krebs when I would see him on news reports during the orange man-baby’s first term. He came across as someone who had integrity and was truthful. I remember thinking that I could believe what he was saying. That he is being persecuted for telling the truth and being forthright is despicable and destroys the very fabric of our society. I stand with him, you Olivia, and any other truth telling individual who defends our democracy and freedoms.
